Vistara Airlines (a full-service airline) was founded in 2015 as a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines. Based out of Gurugram, the airline quickly got a subscription for its premium service, comfy cabins and a customer-first approach. As the first Indian airline to launch Premium Economy Class, it provided passengers with better alternatives between Business and Economy Classes.
Over the years, Vistara grew from strength to strength with a fleet of the latest generation Airbus A320, A321neo and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, covering more than 50 domestic and international destinations. It was popular among leisure and business travelers, thanks to its on-time reliability, fine dining, and award-winning service.
2024 — Vistara officially merged with Air India, uniting the strengths of the two iconic brands. The Vistara name will be retired, but its signature service and premium experience live with Air India. Customers from the Vistara loyalty program, Club Vistara, have also been merged with the Air India Frequent Flyer program to keep the benefits and rewards risk-free.
Vistara will no longer be a standalone entity, yet it has created a lasting legacy and a high (well, actually very high) bar for service in Indian aviation. Due to its novelty, comfort, innovation and trust, it will be remembered as a new benchmark/standard of air travel.
